Install and sign in

The desktop app currently runs on macOS. Request access to receive setup guidance and the current app build. There isn’t a public download linked from this site yet.

Install the Wayform CLI and authenticate first:

npm install -g wayform
wayform login

Move the supplied app into Applications. The app asks the CLI for an OAuth token; it doesn’t expose that token to its web UI. Only remove macOS quarantine if you trust the build and its source. Current development DMGs are unsigned.

Connect a local project

Open Settings, choose Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, and map your Wayform project to the local product-repo folder. Your chosen agent needs to be installed and authenticated separately.

The app uses your installed agent. It doesn’t supply a hosted coding model or replace your agent subscription.

Plan in a chat

Start a new chat and describe what you want to build. The agent can inspect the mapped repository, use web research, and work with Wayform plans.

Planning chats run with read-only repository access. Saving or revising a Wayform plan is allowed; planning doesn’t edit your application files. Chats stay on your machine.

Open a generated plan to review the goal, constraints, approach, and checklist. You can edit the plan directly and read earlier versions.

Build a plan

The released CLI build path opens your coding agent interactively in a terminal:

wayform build 12 --client codex

The agent uses the installed build skill to carry the plan and its decisions into implementation. Plan checking happens before the pull request.

Running and watching agent build sessions inside the desktop app is in development. The fuller build cockpit is also planned. These aren’t required for the current terminal workflow.

Connection settings

The app uses the default hosted gateway unless you set a different URL in Settings. An app opened from Finder or the Dock does not inherit your terminal’s shell environment. Configure a custom gateway in the app itself.

If the app can’t authenticate, run wayform login and wayform doctor in a terminal first. See troubleshooting.
